Overview

Josh Lopez is an associate in the firm's Litigation department and is based in Washington, D.C. His practice focuses on intellectual property law, including patent, trade secret, copyright, and unfair competition disputes.

Mr. Lopez represents individuals and corporations in proceedings in federal district court, post-grant proceedings before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board, and related federal appeals. His practice spans a range of industries, including mobile device and multimedia technology, medical devices, and Artificial Intelligence applications. He also maintains an active pro bono practice, representing clients in veterans and housing matters.

Mr. Lopez received his law degree from The George Washington University Law School in 2022, where he served as the Executive Production Editor of the American Intellectual Property Law Association Quarterly Journal. He also participated in the Hispanic National Bar Association’s IP Law Institute and served as a judicial intern at the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. Mr. Lopez earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Physics with a concentration in Computer Techniques and a minor in Philosophy from the University of Pennsylvania in 2018. He is admitted to practice in the District of Columbia and New York. He is also registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
