Overview

Benoît Thirion is a partner in the Corporate Department, in charge of the Public Law practice, and is based in the firm’s Paris office.

He advises and litigates on general public law and public business law matters on behalf of public entities and private companies, investment funds and financial institutions.

Benoît has developed significant experience with, and a keen understanding of, the strategic and legal issues of infrastructures and associated services, including transport and mobility, energy, telecoms and environmental services (water and waste) and has established close relationships with many key players in these sectors.

Benoît assists his clients in the structuring, negotiating, drafting and executing their public contracts (concessions, complex contractual arrangements, public procurement contracts and public domain occupancy agreements).

He is involved in all matters relating to the granting of authorizations or regulations applicable to economic activities in a variety of contexts (capital transactions, project structuring and implementation and litigation). He specializes in regulatory, environmental law and state aid law.

He works closely with the firm's M&A, Private Equity and Financing teams.

He teaches public law, ecological transition and public contract law at Sciences Po Paris Law School. He regularly collaborates with think tanks and university chairs and publishes articles on a wide range of topics related to his practice.
