Paul Hastings' Brussels office is the focal point of our integrated European Union law/Competition practice.
Our Brussels attorneys advise on general EU law, including free movement and harmonization, and actively monitor and participate in the legislative process within the EU institutions. We achieve this through direct and sustained contact with representatives of the European institutions as well as various fora concerning EU initiatives in Brussels.
Together with the Paris office we are a member of the prestigious American Chamber of Commerce to the European Union, composed of some 130 leading multinational companies, and are particularly active in the Competition Subcommittee of the Chamber.
We advocate a proactive, strategic approach in our core practice in Brussels, which revolves around advice and assistance in merger control cases (notifications and negotiations with DG Competition of the European Commission; third party representation), as well as antitrust complaints and representation in antitrust cases before the European Commission. We have considerable experience in State aid matters, including litigation in complex cases before the Community Courts in Luxembourg.
